Terminal illness benefit
If a serving member under the age of 69 (64 if retired) is diagnosed as having an illness or injury from which he or she is expected to die within 12 months, they may apply for an advance of 20% of the life assurance benefit.
Terminal illness benefit is payable direct to the member and the amount advanced will be deducted from the settlement on death.
Child death grant
This benefit is paid upon the death of a dependent child aged between six months and 17 years.
